PORTOBELLO SQUARE, LONDON

Portobello Square is one of the largest regeneration schemes in Kensington and Chelsea and is currently proceeding through a number of building phases. The client Catalyst Housing Group and architect PRP required a material that could replicate stone whilst offering a light weight alternative to a traditional cast stone facade.
Through working closely with one of our Jesmonite manufacturers the architects specified Jesmonite AC730 and wanted a bespoke colour stone finish. Project deadlines demanded a material solution that was fast setting with AC730 leading to significantly higher productivity than standard GRC.

“This landmark London project required a bespoke stone colour match that met the exacting requirements of the client and developer, whilst also being a material that complied with the necessary regulatory standards for durability and impact resistance. Once again Jesmonite provided a comprehensive package of material development, sample preparation and technical support that enabled us to win the project and meet strict deadlines without compromise on quality.”
